Healthcare in Level Two: We are open for your healthcare needs

posted in: Urgent News

We are open for all your health needs and it’s safe to see your general practice team

Much has changed in a few short months during lockdown and our team want to thank you for your continued support, patience, and kindness during this time.  We have worked hard to keep our patients and staff safe during this time of COVID-19 while looking after your health needs.

Now that New Zealand has moved to Level 2 your health team continues to be available for phone/video or face to face consultations

The easiest way to contact us is by telephone 09 372 5005. You can also contact us via email reception@ostendmedicalcentre.co.nz, as at times our phone lines are busy.  If you are registered with our online patient portal, ConnectMed you can book your appointments at your convenience 24/7. www.connectmed.co.nz

Our patients tell us that phone and secure video consultations have worked well for them and we are finding that most health issues can be managed this way, however, depending on your health needs, we will see you in person and you are encouraged to call us and come in when it is necessary.

Book your normal check ups

All our services are running – these include

  • Flu vaccinations
  • Adult and child immunisations (measles, tetanus, pneumococcal)
  • New patient checks
  • Heart checks
  • Contraception
  • Cervical smear tests
  • Diabetes
  • Routine bloods
  • Occupational health

Our practice is safe for you to visit

We are pleased to advise that when you come into our practice for a consultation in person, it is safe to do so. We use strict infection prevention control. We regularly wipe down with hospital standard disinfectant to keep the environment clean and germ-free.  We also ensure patients with cold or influenza symptoms are kept separate from others who are well or do not have these symptoms.

Looking after your health and wellbeing

COVID-19 has changed our daily lives. It’s normal to feel anxious and nervous at this time.

Look after your health and wellbeing. Remember, you can talk to us. There are also some great tips on the Mental Health Foundation website
